Connecting with Nigerien students

Thanks to new technologies becoming available in many schools in Niger and the covid-era which makes webinars and online classes normal in our lives, I get to connect with Nigerien students and discuss with them from my home in Washington, DC.

Growing up in Niger, I haven't had a chance to discuss with scientists and get to know their work and passion. Today, as a scientist, I believe it is highly important to connect with the young Nigeriens, inspire them, and make them believe that they too belong to the scientific world and science needs them. These discussions allow students to ask any questions not only about science but also about life as a Nigerien student abroad and/or as a Nigerien woman eager to push boundaries.

While inspiring the youth, these exchanges with Nigerien students give me hope and increase my determination to further continue to exchange with Nigerien students and inspire the next generation of Nigerien scientists.
